Men's Cross Country Ranked 13th in Region

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's cross country team has once again found itself ranked among the top teams in the South Central Region.  As announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the Islanders start the 2016 campaign 13th in the region.

Three-time defending South Central Champion Arkansas has been picked to win once again in 2016, while Texas and Texas A&M round out the top three.  Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, McNeese and Sam Houston State joined the Islanders as representatives from the Southland Conference in the rankings.

The Islanders placed 15th at last year's regional championships in College Station.  Fabian Lutz led the way with a 60th place finish, crossing the line in 31:53.5 on the 10 kilometer course.

The 2016 campaign beings for the Blue and Green this Friday when both the men's and women's teams head south to compete at UTRGV.
